As part of my Minor in Computer Science at TU Delft, I learned all the basics of programming and software engineering. But, as a long-time video game and VR enthusiast, I was beyond excited to work on a game of my own as part of this Game Development Project!

After some brainstorming, the group decided we should make a 2D platformer game (no VR unfortunately), I worked out the creative direction in Miro and used Stable Diffusion AI to craft a brand-new workflow for myself.

I ended up generating about 3800 images with Stable Diffusion, both for inspiration and asset purposes. I would go through many iterations, going back and forth between drawing in photoshop and generating until the final result was ready for upscaling and correcting. This way, I made static backgrounds, many repeating assets, and props. I also made character models in Blender and mapped Mixamo animations onto their rigs. Sound was mostly taken from existing games such as "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice", because the project was and is not made for profit.

This project really opened my eyes to the world of game design and how I might combine it with Industrial Design. I also really loved working in a multidisciplinary team because it got me to strategize so much more, all the moving parts were much more intricate and varied.
